What is the difference between a car wash and an exterior detail?+
A car wash rinses the surface. The $150 Classic Exterior Bath decontaminates the paint, cleans inside the wheel wells and barrels, wipes the trim and jambs, and finishes with a spray-on wax. The $240 Master Exterior Bath adds deep wheel cleaning and shine plus bug & tar removal. It protects, not just cleans.
Will this remove water spots and swirl marks?+
Light to moderate water spots, yes — water spot removal is a $50 add-on. Etched spots, swirl marks, and oxidation need a clay bar ($180) or a one-step polish ($199). Two-step polish for deeper defects is $299. We'll look at your paint and tell you which it actually needs.
How often should I get an exterior detail near the coast?+
Salt air off the South Bay coast pulls protection off clear coat fast. Every 4 to 6 weeks keeps the seal intact. Pair it with a 6-month ceramic coating ($195 add-on) and you stretch that out a lot.
What happens if it rains on my appointment?+
We watch the forecast and text you the night before if rain is coming. Light coastal mist is fine because we work under your garage, carport, or any covered spot. Heavy rain gets a free reschedule to the next clear day.
Do you need my water or electricity?+
No. The truck carries a 50-gallon water tank and a generator. We detail anywhere with curb access: driveway, street, office lot, or marina. You don't have to be home as long as the car is unlocked or you leave a key.
Do bigger vehicles cost more?+
Yes. Listed prices are for standard cars. A compact pickup or SUV adds $40. A 3rd-row SUV, van, or XL truck adds $65. That covers the extra time and product, nothing hidden.
How do I pay, and is there a first-time deal?+
Booking takes a small deposit to lock the slot. The balance — cash, Zelle, Venmo, or card — is due after the detail's finished and you've looked the car over. First-time clients get 20% off — just mention it when you book.
Which cities do you cover?+
Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, El Segundo, Torrance, Rancho Palos Verdes, Lomita, San Pedro, Long Beach, Del Aire, Lawndale, Hawthorne, Signal Hill, Rolling Hills, Palos Verdes Estates, and Harbor City. Just outside that line? Text us. We make exceptions for repeat clients.
How fast can you book a detail in Hermosa Beach?+
Usually within a few days, often sooner midweek. We're a small owner-run crew, so call or text Patrick and we'll find the first open slot. Pier Plaza and Strand jobs that need garage access we schedule a touch ahead so the building can clear us in.
Do I need to be home while you detail my car?+
No. Plenty of Hermosa clients leave a key or hop down to the pier while we work. The truck carries its own 50-gallon water tank and generator, so we don't need your hose, your power, or you standing there. We text you when it's done.
Will ceramic coating actually help with the marine layer and salt spray here?+
Yes. Cars parked near the pier and along The Strand sit in salt mist and a marine layer that keeps the paint damp. A ceramic coating gives salt and water something to bead off instead of etching the clear coat, which is why it's worth it on coastal Hermosa cars.
